We followed the Mauerweg all the way to the Soviet war memorial in Reinickendorf. Virtually untouched since Stalin’s days, it is full of inscriptions from a different age, asking the visitor to “bare their heads” and goes into great lengths of how intolerance to other “races, classes or sexes” has supposedly been overcome within the Red Army.
