Networked Lenses

January 13, 2014 Craig Mod Photography

I loved this piece by Craig Mod in the New Yorker, who not only echoes my thoughts on the future of cameras but makes a much clearer point:

In the same way that the transition from film to digital is now taken for granted, the shift from cameras to networked devices with lenses should be obvious.”

For him, the future camera is no longer the beautifully crafted tool it once was, but a much more stripped-down version of it that connects to the world around it and thereby captures the whole picture”.
